Grid Impact Study of the PV PP Gracanica 1&2 and PV PP Gornja Breza
Client: DNV Energy Systems Germany GmbH (Germany)
Type: Study
Finishing date: August 2022 (November 2022)
Team: Nebojsa Jovic - Project Manager, S. Markovic - Consultant, L. Mladjenovic
The main objectives of the grid impact study are to examine security of the delivery of the electricity generated by the solar power plants Gracanica 1&2 (50MW) and Gornja Breza (15MW) into the power system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the security of consumer power supply in the zone of the impact of new power plants for the characteristic operating regimes, as well as to assess compliance of new solar power plants control capabilities with valid grid code requirements.
The following services have been provided:
- General analyses of the grid connection aspects such as the location, existing infrastructure, optimal connection point, etc.
- Creation of simulation model
- Analysis of load flows and voltage conditions in the network before and after the commissioning of the power plants
- Analysis of "N-1" security before and after the commissioning of the power plants
- Balances of active and reactive powers in the network area where SPPs will be connected
- Analysis of short circuits in the network before and after the commissioning of the power plant in the network area where SPPs will be connected
- Analysis of upgrades and reinforcements in the network (if necessary) to facilitate the connection od SPPs
- Specification of the voltage and reactive power control capability requirements of SPPs according to the Grid Code
- Estimation of the costs and an implementation time-scale of the power plants’ grid connection processes
- Assessment the grid connection infrastructure in terms of MV/HV switchyards and transmission line/cable route(s)
- Providing a set of conclusions and recommendations for implementation to support the decision-making process of the Client
Type of services provided:
- Data collection
- Grid and power plant modelling
- Power flow analysis
- Voltage profile analysis
- Contingency analysis
- Sensitivity analysis
- Compliance with grid code requirements
