EKC held a training on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) grid integration with DIgSILENT PowerFactory software tool for Turkish TSO.

In the beginning of January 2020 in Ankara, Turkey EKC representatives held training on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) grid integration with DIgSILENT PowerFactory software tool. The training was held for operational, planning and R&D personnel of TEIAŞ - Turkish Transmission System Operator.

The aim of the training was to explain and demonstrate the capability of BESS to operate in Frequency Containment Reserve (FCR) mechanism by using DIgSILENT PowerFactory software tool. For that purpose a detailed description of different BESS dynamic models available in DIgSILENT PowerFactory was presented with emphasis on possibility and effects of adjusting the parameters relevant for frequency stability analysis, such as frequency controller droop and dead band.
