Evaluation of Congestion Revenues Based on the Mid-term Projection of Wholesale Prices in the Region of Southeast Europe and Italy for the period 2023-2025

The aim of this study was to estimate the annual congestion revenues for CGES on the HVDC cable between Montenegro and Italy as well as at other electrical borders of Montenegro for the period 2023-2025., considering the development of wholesale electricity market prices in Southeast Europe and Italy.
For the purposes of this study:
- Wholesale electricity price forecast for 2023, 2024 and 2025 from the relevant European power exchanges was performed, considering also economic and political factors
- An energy-market simulation model of Southeast Europe and Italy was prepared and analyzes were performed in the PLEXOS software tool.
