Objective of this study is to analyze influence of installation of phase-shift transformers (PSTs) 400/110kV in SS Lastva. The analysis is performed through comparison of results against those obtained with usage of in-phase transformers in this substation. A lot of exchange scenarios have been analyzed (three different directions towards Italy and one from Italy, from zero exchange to maximal 1200MW, with step of 100MW) in each analyzed characteristic regime. For each analyzed exchange scenario several calculations have been performed, with different adjustment of scheduled active power flow through PSTs.
Analyses have included load flow analyses, analyses of branch loadings, analyses of active power losses in transmission network of Montenegro, and contingency analyses.
Based on the results for the analyses, cost-benefit analysis has been performed in order to give conclusion concerning economic justification of proposed investment.
