Training Workshop: Usage of the Developed Regional Dynamic Simulation Model (RDSM)

Within the SECI project EKC recently completed study on creation and verification of SECI Regional Dynamic Simulation Model (RDSM). Therefore, SECI members expressed necessity of training workshop on usage of the developed RDSM. According to this, the USEA organized training on usage of the RDSM in the PSS/E software.

The two days training was provided by the EKC and included participation by the SECI TSOs. The training was conducted in Budapest, on June 2nd and 3rd, 2014.

This was basic training on PSS/E usage of the RDSM in stability studies. The main advantages of this training were as follows:

• Training was interactive - close contacts between trainers and participants were established, so participants were able to make interrupt at any time and request additional explanations;
• The training has practical usage - all simulations and tests were performed on real system model which was available to all participants;
• Trainer's experience - it was of significant importance that trainers had great experience in practical usage of the RDSM using PSS/E in different kinds of stability studies.

The training was held in good atmosphere among trainers and participants. Since the training was interactive, a lot of questions and requests for further explanations have been raised. All participants were satisfied with quality of the training and expressed ideas for further trainings.
