BSTP Dynamic Simulation Training
The Black Sea Regional Transmission System Planning Project (BSTP) was established in 2004, as part of Balkans and Regional Energy Market Partnership Program. Within the BSTP during 2010-2011. EKC completed creation of first draft BSTP dynamic simulation models for 2015 and 2020.
During the BSTP Working Group meeting in Chisinau, Moldova, which was held in March 2014, representatives of almost all TSOs, expressed necessity of training workshop on usage of the dynamic stability analysis module in PSS/E software and in correlation with that appropriate developed regional modules. According to this, the USEA organized training on usage of the dynamic stability analysis modules in the PSS/E software.
The two days training was provided by the EKC and included participation by the BSTP TSOs. The training was conducted in Tbilisi, Georgia, on June 9th and 10th , 2014.
This was basic training on PSS/E usage in stability studies. The main advantages of this training were as follows:
- Training was interactive, which means that close contacts between trainers and participants were established, so participants were able to make interrupt at any time and request additional explanations;
- The training has practical usage, because all simulations and tests were performed on built in software example system model which was available to all participants;
- It was of significant importance that trainers had great experience in practical usage of the dynamic stability model using PSS/E in different kinds of stability studies.
