Impact Assessment of Regional Balancing Integration in the BSTP Electricity Market and Short Circuit Analysis Model Development

08.03.2016

Whole project consists of two parts (two studies) with the following objectives:

  • Phase I: Impact Assessment of Regional Balancing Integration in the BSTP Electricity Market: The study will improve the capacity of TSOs and regulators to understand the current national systems of balancing system imbalances, improve their understanding of potential market based mechanisms for the provision of balancing capacity, and develop a criteria based decision framework that can be used by TSOs and regulators to evaluate the potential benefits and costs associated with the transition to competitive balancing markets.
  • Short Circuit Analysis Model Development: This study will analyse and describe the necessary parameters that will provide power system over current protection devices, preventing injury of personnel, minimizing damage to system components, and limiting the extent and duration of service interruptions during equipment failures, overloads and short circuit conditions.
